This wasn't the plan.

I didn't expect to end up here.

I qualified as a psychologist in 2015 and spent years working in secure hospitals and psychiatric units, sitting with people in their darkest, most overwhelming moments. I thought I understood emotional overwhelm inside and out.

Then I became a mum.

And I discovered something humbling: knowing the theory doesn't help when you're running on empty. I knew why I was yelling. I knew what was happening in my body. I knew all the tools. And I still couldn't access any of it when my child was screaming and I'd had four hours of sleep.

That gap between knowing and doing? That's where everything I offer now comes from.

Because if a psychologist with over a decade of experience can't "just stay calm," then maybe the problem was never about trying harder. Maybe it was about understanding what's really going on underneath and building the right support around it.

That's what I do now. I help overwhelmed mums stop the yelling cycle through courses that are built for real life, not the calm, quiet version of life that most parenting advice assumes. And I offer therapy for adults who are struggling with emotional overwhelm, trauma, and relationships that feel harder than they should.

No shame. No jargon. No advice that falls apart the moment things get stressful.

I'm Nicola

Psychologist, mum, and forever curious about why we do what we do.

I've always been drawn to the why.

Even as a teenager reading crime novels, I wasn't hooked by who did it. I wanted to understand what made them tick. Why they snapped, spiralled, disconnected, disappeared.

That curiosity never left me. It just evolved into a calling.

I began studying psychology in 2006 and went on to complete my Masters and Doctorate in Forensic Psychology. Since qualifying in 2015, I've spent over a decade supporting people in some of the most emotionally intense corners of life, from secure units and prisons to inpatient hospitals and community services.

Through it all, one thing became clear: people don't just need insight. They need support that changes how they feel in the moments that matter most.

That's why everything I offer, whether it's therapy or a course you do from your sofa at 9pm, is built on the same foundation: real tools, no shame, and support that actually holds up when life gets loud.
